Grammy-nominated trombonist, composer, arranger, educator, author, and cartoonist Steve Wiest needs little introduction in the big band world. 

Steve has consistently been a driving and innovative force  in jazz as both player and writer, helping to shape the sounds of Maynard Ferguson's bands and the University of North Texas One O'Clock Lab Band--first as a student, and later as the director. Steve's latest projects, including Vinyl Hampdin continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in brass writing and performance.

Steve's expansive educational career found him spreading his jazz gospel to thousands of students at University of Texas at Arlington, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the University of North Texas, and the University of Denver Lamont School of Music.
