Alabama Down

Composed and Arranged by Steve Williams

Based on Sweet Georgia Brown, Alabama Down employs a linear approach. The head is moderately challenging and features Trumpet and Alto. Other than the horns, there is no harmonic accompaniment during the solos and there are a lot of "funny" notes (ala Monk) in the backgrounds. The tempo is medium up (1/4 note = 220). No doubles, lead trumpet to written D, lead trombone to Ab. [Instrumentation: 5 saxes, 8 brass, 4 rhythm]
