Creative and exciting as always, Dave set this swinging melody over varying rhythmic figures, salsa-like bass lines, and hard-driving swing feels to create a shifting and dynamic landscape with something new and interesting at every turn. Angular and rhythmic, the sax soli features soprano/trumpet lead and winds up huge with cranking brass before a modified head takes it out to the grand finale. Solos are for trombone and trumpet.
